Auteur’s feed is a reading room, not a shouting hall. Readers share what they finished, what they noticed, and what’s worth someone else’s time. These guidelines keep it that way. They apply to everything you publish on the Service — posts, comments, your handle, and your bio — and they form part of our Terms of Use.
The short version
Write about the work. Be generous with other readers. Anything abusive, hateful, or unlawful is removed and can end your account — we operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior.
Not allowed
- Harassment or abuse. Attacks, threats, bullying, or unwanted contact directed at any person — on or off the Service.
- Hate. Content that demeans people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age. Slurs are removed on sight.
- Violence. Threats, incitement, or glorification of violence or self-harm.
- Sexual content. Auteur discusses art, which includes the nude; leering, explicit, or exploitative content does not belong here. Any sexual content involving minors is reported to authorities.
- Spam and deception. Link-dumping, scams, impersonation of other people or of Auteur, manufactured engagement.
- Unlawful content.Anything that infringes others’ rights or breaks applicable law.
How moderation works
- Filters first. Every post, comment, handle, and bio passes an automatic language filter before it publishes.
- Report anything. Every post, comment, and profile carries a Report action. Reports go to a human.
- We act quickly. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours; egregious content is removed on sight and the account suspended.
- Block anyone. Blocking a reader hides their posts, comments, and shelf activity from you — and yours from them — immediately.
- Consequences scale. Depending on severity: content removal, warning, suspension, or permanent removal of the account.
