A quiet way to learn.

Ask what you want to understand and remember, and Auteur writes you an Issue: a magazine-style course of 5-minute chapters, fact-checked, built on real artworks, with quiet checks woven in.

How the Auteur App works.

I

Ask about anything.

A question, or prep for something you’re about to go see. Auteur drafts a course of short chapters around exactly what you asked.

An Issue, written for you.

A course in the shape of a magazine, built on real artwork. Every chapter stays a five-minute read — depth adds chapters, never length.

III

A question, mid-chapter.

Active recall, woven into the reading. Questions in different formats appear mid-chapter to keep you engaged — catching what slipped past before you read on.

Your turn

Homer opens the poem with a plea, not a hero. To whom is the Odyssey's very first line addressed?

IV

Stop forgetting what you read.

Every Sunday, Auteur writes you a letter — what you read, what to carry, the questions that keep it. Recall, in the shape of correspondence.

Dear Dua,

Five evenings, four chapters closed — and polytropos stopped being a word and became a man: Odysseus, of many turns. One more slipped you Thursday. We’ll come to it.

Common questions

The back page

What is Auteur?

A cultural-learning companion for iPhone. Ask about anything — a painting, a grape, a myth, a building — and Auteur writes you a personal magazine Issue about it.

What exactly is an Issue?

A course in the shape of a magazine, written for you around real artwork. You choose how deep it goes: the Primer is an evening, the Long Read carries you for weeks. Every chapter stays a short read.

Can it prepare me for something?

Yes. Tell Auteur about the exhibition on Saturday or the concert next month and it writes the Issue that gets you ready — what to know before, and what to look for while you're there.

Is the artwork AI-generated?

No. Every plate is a real work from museum open-access collections, The Metropolitan Museum of Art among them — credited, and reproduced with care.

How does Auteur help me remember?

At the end of a chapter it turns what you read into questions, then asks you again days later. Spaced recall is how a reading becomes a memory — and every Sunday, a review of your week writes itself.

Where can I get it?

Auteur is coming to the iPhone App Store. Join the waitlist below and your first Issue will find you at launch.

Your shelf

Taste compounds.

Every Issue you finish takes its place on a shelf. Nobody else’s looks like yours. It is a record of attention, which is the only honest record of taste.

The wine spring. Three weeks of Greek myth. The month you finally understood Brutalism.
